The City of Pregrada is a small town located in the northwest of the Republic of Croatia, in Krapina-Zagorje County. The City of Pregrada is the third biggest town in Krapina-Zagorje County with population of 5927 people on 67m2. Its urbanised center is surrounded with rural settlements. The City is also investing in environment protection and energetic efficiency. The town is known by quality wine production and is putting efforts in development of rural tourism, but are also known by cultural heritage – castles and churches.
Local action group Zagorje-Sutla is non profit association established as partnership among public, private and civil sector. LAG covers 11 communities and around 44000 inhabitants on the area of 439 km2. The population lives in 188 small and dispersant communities, which puts a lot of challenges in maintaining the social and comunal infrastructure. The development index of the area is 83,75% of national averege as well as income per capita (82,32% of national average).Key activities of LAG are development and implementation of Local development strategy and implementation of LEADER/CLLD principals. Goal of Local development strategy is to promote successful and sustainable economy, to promote diversification of agricultural activities to create inclusive rural area, to support local market and visibility of area and to support sustainable social local development. Besides LEADER/CLLD they are implementing other projects regarding youth, gender equality and promotion of volunteerism.
The municipality of Žužemberk is located in Dolenjska county, in the heart of “Dry landscape” torn between forests and vineyards. Nature has endowed it with forests, ther iver Krka and the vineyards planted byt he Romans. The size of the municipality is 164.3 km2 with 51 settlements with 4800 inhabitants. The rich history is dating back to the 12th century,but its importance is growing in the 16th century with Counts Turjak, the owners of the Žužemberk castle, known for their military importance and cosmopolitanism. The feast of the municipality is celebrated on July 15 in the old castle on famous “Trški dnevi” (“Market Town Days”) known throughout Slovenia and abroad.
The Trebnje Center for Education and Culture is a public organization, established by the Trebnje municipality to promote and develop an adult education. Organization has two units: Gallery for naïve art and Adult education center. Gallery for naïve art was established 1970 and collections consists of paintings and sculptures that were produced by more than 280 artists from all over the world. There is constantly exhibitions of collection and collections of individuals and museums of naïve art abroad, art workshops and other pedagogical and cultural activities (artistic evenings, lecturers…).
Adult education center offers a comprehensive range of education programmes: from elementary school for adults to secondary education programmes, as well numerous non-formal education programmes (general education, training and courses). In recent years, increasing attention has been given to various projects that develop and encourage lifelong learning among different target groups, to raise the level of literacy, especially the socially weak (elderly, rural residents, members of the Roma community, special needs persons, the unemployed, young, persons serving a prison sentence, etc).
The CIK Trebnje participate in European projects in the field of adult and socially weekly groups learning, to raise their level of literacy, to increase the scope of competences, social inclusion.
Centre for Economic and Rural Development (CERD) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation established with the purpose of continuous development of rural areas and enhancing the quality of life for rural population in BiH and region.
Our beginnings go back to 2007 when CERD was an integrative part of an local organisation called ACED. In 2012 CERD become an independent organisation. Currently, CERD consists of a team of 15 experts who are committed to principles of sustainable rural development and who work to accomplish CERD’s mission and vision: a modern rural areas, which offers a possibility of starting a business and employment, rural areas that have good infrastructure and conditions for a fulfilling social life – rural areas which follow principles of inclusion and opportunities for all people, including enhancement of cooperation with similar organisations and regions throughout the Europe.
Plœuc-L’Hermitage has a 8227 ha and 4121 inhabitants. It has 4 primary schools, a local police, a finance, a gendarmerie, a municipal kitchen, a municipal service of water, a post agency in city hall of Hermitage Lorge, 3 social specialized establishments (elderly, handicaped people, autistic syndrome). We have a commercial and artisanal zone, a varied offer of local businesses, a village hall, a media and game library, sports infrastructure – 4 soccer fields, 3 tennis courts, 2 skateboards park, 3 sports halls and more than 60 associations. The Camet’s lake offer pedestrian path accessible to the people with reduced mobility. The Henri Bozec place, welcome numerous sports and leisure activities such as the horse races of July 14th and the regional and national competitions of mountain bike and archery. Plœuc-L’Hermitage is also famous throught its evenement whose name is “la Pomme de Terre en fête” where 30 000 people celebrate the potato every three years in September.
Association “Ludza District Partnership” was founded on June 30, 2006. Association realizes targeted and mutually coordinated actualities for rural development that encourages society to look for new solutions for existing rural problems.
The goal of the association is to increase capacity of the local people and organizations by implementing own projects of the local initiative groups according to accepted rural development strategy by Local active group and promoting sustainable rural development as well as welfare of the citizens.
Siksali Development Centre is a non-profit organisation in South-Eastern Estonia, working in the field of local development. The Centre was established in 2002 in order to help local people find new ideas for alternative economic activities, since the situation in the villages was not very promising due to unemployment, young people leaving to towns, etc. During its 20 years of operation, the NGO has run numerous local, national and international projects in topics related to rural development, rural tourism, youth, social issues, citizenship, entrepereneurship development etc for the benefit of the local population and other target groups.
